Mary Douglas who won first place in the Unassisted Category.
Residents Mary Douglas, Betty Jones, Margaret Roxburgh, Christine Guthrie, Irene Patterson and Betty Montgomery all enjoyed rediscovering their cake decorating skills using butter icing, a 1950's icing set and sweets to make wonderful creations. Not to be outdone by the ladies, Ian Simpson and Andrew Adam also joined in.
At the end of the session care staff, Garry Traynor, Agnes Smillie and Sarah Thompson, formed the judging panel for the two categories - assisted and unassisted. The results were:-
Unassisted Category - 1st place - Mary Douglas, 2nd place Christine Guthrie
Assisted Category - 1st place - Margaret Roxburgh, 2nd place Betty Montogomery.
All the residents who took part in this fun competition enjoyed the challenge and are looking forward to the next in-house competition.
