Day Trip to Callander

Thursday, 10 June 2010
Group of people enjoying the sunshine.

Mary Douglas from Craigie House, Bert Silvey and Beatrice Duff from Alexander House with Tom and Hannah and Alexander.

Residents from Alexander House and Craigie House enjoyed a combined trip on the bus with Tom. Here is Tom's report on the outing:-

Friday 4th June - Alexander House and Craigie House.

It was a glorious morning as we left Crossgates to visit Callander. We passed Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument on the way. Our party decided to picnic beside the river in Callander Meadows. We heard the skirl of the bagpipes nearby and realised that guests were arriving for a wedding.

Gary Logan, the HR Director for Kingdom Homes, enjoying a day off with his family happened to be picnicing there too and on recognising us, popped over to say hello.

Some of the residents got chatting to a couple who introduced themselves as Hannah and Alexander, who were also enjoying a day out in the warm sunshine and they had their picture (above) taken with us.

All in all another great day out on the bus made better by the good weather - pity we're not always so lucky on our trips!
